Pleasure Activism Part 2 - Develop an Aligned Business

This is not your typical business workshop!

Yes, it will guide you through exercises to develop an idea and vision for your business, but it goes further than that - it stays grounded in your life’s purpose!

This workshop centers the principles of Pleasure Activism written and gathered by adrienne maree brown, so you will walk away with a vision for your business that not only inspires and excites you, but will also support intentional social/political/environmental change!

This workshop is the second Pleasure Activism event hosted by Sola Habibi. It is part of the Care Economy Series, a collection of workshops and round table discussions that will help us transition from an economy of exploitation and profit, to one of care and community. Learn more about the Care Economy Series, here

Here’s adrienne maree brown’s definition for Pleasure Activism:

  • “Pleasure activism is the work we do to reclaim our whole, happy, and satisfiable selves from the impacts, delusions, and limitations of oppression and/or supremacy…Pleasure activism includes work and life lived in the realms of satisfaction, joy, and erotic aliveness that bring about social and political change.”

In this workshop, I will be sharing my process on how I developed my pleasure activist business, Sola Habibi, and walk you through exercises to create a business filled with joy and purpose.

When I started my business, I was feeling lost about my career trajectory. I wanted to help my community and escape the capitalist workforce and so I started visioning and planning an alternative. I came up with Sola Habibi, roughly translating to “only my love,” it is born from my heart’s deepest desires. Although I’m still in the capitalist workforce, I know Sola Habibi will continue to develop and will eventually bring me to a place of financial sovereignty, all while bringing me joy and purpose!

If this brief story resonates with you, come through! Meet the other beautiful humans ready to serve their community and carve out a better world through entrepreneurship. There will be lots of opportunities to connect!
