This event will be a blend of interactive play, problem solving, historical context and vulnerability. We will share a collective goal that the end of the game will aid in revealing. We will all get a chance to tour Omni Commons, an integral common space stewarded by volunteers and collectives.
This is what you will get out of this workshop:
- Interactive play with makers and fixer tools
- A tour of Omni Commons with historical context to this space
- The basics of stewarding spaces and hands on practice
Learn how to care for and create community spaces to nourish our collective needs and move away from capitalist models of living. The commons are a place where we can compile our collective resources and distribute them so we all have enough!
This workshop is part of the Care Economy Series, a collection of workshops and round table discussions that will help us transition from an economy of exploitation and profit, to one of care and community. Learn more about the Care Economy Series, here.
Facilitated by Silver Zahn. Silver is a community organizer, weaver, and commons steward for Omni Commons, PLACE community, and more!
Accessibility: The event will take place up a large flight of stairs. There are then two stairs to get into the venue room. Masks are required within Omni Commons. Please do not come if you are feeling sick. For more details on accessibility click here.
