Community Event Planning 101

Looking to plan an event but not sure where to even start? Or feeling hung up on a challenge like your budget, city permits, or flier design?

Join us for this interactive workshop where we’ll walk through the many facets of event organizing together and leave with a concrete plan of action to move forward. Facilitated by Drusilla Cowan (they/them), event lead +co-owner at Hot Stuff Studios, who’s organized over 40 intimate events + workshops this year alone.

Topics we’ll cover:

  • Finding venues

  • Working with co-organizers / vendors

  • Permitting basics

  • Monetizing your event

  • Promotion

  • + how to keep all this info organized!

Throughout the evening, there will be lots opportunities to connect and brainstorm with other creatives to bring your vision to life. This is the 2nd workshop as part of the Care Economy Series, led by Sola Habibi. The Care Economy Series is a collection of round table discussions and workshops for community empowerment. An intentional space to learn, practice, and create a new economy that centers community and care over exploitation and profit.
